Training

We can offer basic and more advanced training on planning and the development process to community groups, residents and tenants association and BME or faith groups. The objective of our training is to make you and your community feel more confident about getting involved in the planning system and giving you the tools to do so.

It is about empowering you and your community.

Our training can be targeted to the specific needs of any audience and it can focus on one or all the aspects of the planning process:

  • planning applications and how to submit or respond to them;
  • planning policies and local development plan;
  • reading masterplans and design.

Our basic training session module can be delivered in half a day. Other training modules can be arranged over more than one session.
We can also find locations and facilities for training sessions.

Our training is also fun and we can include planning games, planning for real and role playing in our training.

Recent training offered by the Willowbrook Centre

  • Aylesbury Estate Physical Environment Group: two sessions on reading and preparing masterplans.
  • Southwark Refugee Communities Forum: half day session on the UK planning system and planning applications.
  • Southwark Travellers' Action Group: half day session on the UK planning system and planning applications.
