How can we help?

The mission for our Planning and Regeneration Aid Service is to:

Increase the knowledge of the local community about the planning system and processes and to enable them to contribute to decision making processes.

Enable people to have enough information to come to an informed view about a planning application or planning policy for themselves. We are also able to seek expert opinions where necessary.

Involve people in a process whereby they come to a greater knowledge and understanding of the planning system and are then able to engage more regularly and in greater depth in the future.

Through our Planning Aid service we can offer:

• Advice service
  • dealing with planning aid casework including planning applications and input to the development of planning policies.
  • development of our professional volunteer network including promotion and training.

• Policy work
  • responses to local, regional and national policies from a community perspective; raising awareness amongst local groups about these policies and facilitating their responses as appropriate.

• BME Planning Network
  • Just over a year ago we started our BME planning project, funded by Southwark Council. The aim is to increase BME groups involvement in planning including responses to planning applications and other consultations.
