Southwark Council has launched a new consultation on the Peckham Area Action
Plan.
The PAAP proposes to cover the area of Peckham shown on the map to the left.
The plan aims to target mainly the regeneration of the business and retail sectors in Peckham Town Centre and to improve public transport and public spaces.
Within the boundaries of the area, the UDP has identified also several housing sites that will add between 750 to 1500 new units to the area.
The PAAP also includes site 63P identified by the UDP and Transport for London as the site for the depot of the Cross River Tram.
A full list of issues will be developed during the next
few months.

In parallel to the development of the PAAP, Southwark
Council must evaluate how the Plan is achieving wider
sustainability objectives set in the Southwark Plan and
Community Strategy.
Sustainability objectives and criteria to assess the
PAAP have been discussed in the PAAP scoping report which
went under consultation from December 29 2006 to February 9
2007.

Issues and Options reports. From April to October 2007 formal consultation will take place on the "Issues and Options" reports. Nine (9) reports will be drafted and consulted on:
Preferred Options report on what options have been chosen and why.
Final draft of the AAP and of the Sustainability Report that will be submitted for independent examination to the Secretary of State. Adoption is expected in 2008.
Southwark Council and the Peckham Programme will actively consult local communities in and around Peckham. This is part of their statutory duty as set in the Statement of Community Involvement.
