Where can you get more information?

Southwark's committment to community involvement

In the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), Southwark Council sets up how they will provide access to information about planning, how and when community groups and the wider public will be consulted. You can contact the Council to obtain a copy of the SCI

Community councils and other organisations

There are other ways to get information about how you can contribute your opinions to planning decisions, take an active part in developing proposals and options or comment on formal proposals and applications.

You can attend community councils where these proposals are regularly discussed. You can check the Agenda and Minutes of Southwark's community councils on-line.

You can view recent planning applications on-line at Southwark Council's Planning Register or visit the Council offices for older applications.

Tenants Association and Tenant Management Organisation can also offer some information on planning issues.

A variety of community organisations and local interest groups have websites that provide up-to-date information about activities and events in Southwark. Southwark Community Involvement and Development Unit can put you in touch with local interest groups. Southwark Alliance has a list of community groups and community fora active in Southwark.

Local Press

Southwark News and other local newspapers are a source of information about what is happening in Southwark. The Guardian Society website can be searched by keywords for archived news articles (you can try 'Southwark' and 'Regeneration').
